The Pharmacy Division has recently completed a major development program introducing new shops and replacing vital merchandise and till systems.

The Pharmacy Division covers the length and breadth of Lincolnshire and the range of healthcare services offered is both extensive and diverse. As well as offering the traditional services like dispensing prescriptions and offering over-the-counter advice and medicines, other services are on offer such as: smoking cessation clinics, in-store pregnancy testing and aids for the disabled. "Our aim was to replace key business systems in an effort to rationalise the number of systems in use, and also to provide effective unit stock control, integration with our Dividend Card and better business information," explained Andrew Turner, the group's IS Controller. "It was vital that the system could meet the needs and specific key business functions of a multiple store chain such as ours. Ease of support and ease of use were also major deciding factors."

A review of the market-place led Lincolnshire Co-operative Society to select In-Tech's CHOISE System, with integrated EPoS, stock management, Dividend Card management and reporting. A comprehensive IT system, the CHOISE System provides the end-to-end solution for the diverse requirements of the Lincolnshire Co-op Pharmacy business, and benefits from tight version control and affordable support costs.

Now rolled out across all Lincolnshire Co-op's Pharmacy stores, the Windows-based software runs on the renowned DigiPoS PowerPoS touch-screen systems at the point of sale. This rugged solution, complete with three year warranty,is combined with leading peripherals such as  Metrologic bar code scanners and Epson's fast and reliable TM-T88iv thermal receipt printers. The new system provides efficiency and enhanced customer service, together with integration to our Supplier’s electronic ordering systems. "Our new system is working splendidly and has enabled us to implement automated stock replenishment," reported Andrew. "The EPoS is now fully integrated with our unique Dividend System. It is performing very well and we are extremely happy."
